Kayak & Canoe Rentals at Kayanara.
Canada is the land of kayak and canoe enthusiasts. It's almost a ‘must’ to explore the lonely rivers or lakes by kayak or canoe.
We will provide you with life jacket and safety equipment. With our boats, discover the slow-flowing, mystical Eagle Creek with all of its inhabitants, such as fish, water birds, otters, muskrats and beavers.
Or explore Canim Lake or the other pristine lakes around us. Book your kayak or canoe rental when you arrive for your stay.
Swimming
Canim Lake Provincial Park Beach and Ruth Lake are close by, they are both great swimming beaches. Pack a picnic and spend the day lounging in the sun.
Check out our Attractions page for details and directions.
Star Gazing & Northen Lights
Enjoy the view ouside and watch the sky. We are fortunate to have many clear nights year round for optimum star gazing.
The best time to see the Northern Lights (aurora borealis) is winter (December to March)—with cold, clear nights and more hours of darkness. Prepare to stay up late: Around midnight-3am is usually show time.
Walking & Hiking
Escape into nature. Kayanara has multi use trails right on property to be explored and many more trails in the area to enjoy.

Gone Fishing?
No matter what you prefer, fly casting from shore, cruising on the lake or ice fishing, the South Cariboo is here for you. Canim Lake is serious angling country in summer, offering some of the finest freshwater fly-fishing in BC. Canim Lake is the angling center of a region famed for the size of its char, or laker, as the fish is referred to locally. Anglers look for kokanee, rainbow, lake trout up to 25 pounds, or lingcod. We have a couple of suggestions on our Attractions page.
